Water Lilies Development
Kings Weston, Bristol
This is a very exciting project for us to be working on as Bright Green Futures are a sustainable construction company, and they have designed and created unusual and beautiful homes. These are built with fully sustainable energy resources and all the top floors have vaulted apex glass walls, with stunning views across the Severn estuary to South Wales.
One of the challenges we face working sustainably with vintage and bespoke furniture is finding the right pieces in time for the installation. Working with antique and vintage furniture has issues that are different to supply and fit of newly produced items, for example some restoration may be needed, and hand picking the items and arranging delivery can take time. To allow for this it's a good idea to get us involved early on in the design stages to talk floor plans, furniture and decor so we have plenty of lead time to find the perfect pieces for your project.
Montpelier
Bristol
It was an honour to work on this beautiful house in Montpelier, it has been so beautifully renovated by the owners, with a roof terrance, modern stainless steel kitchen and incredible paint colours. The bones of this house are supremely beautiful, and it has all its original features. There is a wonderful glass garden room and the sash windows all have their wooden shutters. Working with the clients own furniture and artwork, we added wall hangings, fringed lamps, soft furnishings, plants, some of our famous bowls, large jugs and other decorative items to add to the lived in feel and to show it off at its best. It's already been featured in two interior magazines!
Full Re-design & Project Management
Cottage in Penzance, Cornwall
We fully designed and project managed this complete renovation of a granite cottage in Penzance. All the pieces we sourced for the interior were in a classic seaside style, with vintage wooden furniture and antique textiles with natural textures. Artwork of St Michaels Mount and Boscastle by artist David Morris, and rugs from an amazing local shop East of Here, which can be found on the interiors and antiques haven of Chapel St, Penzance.
As usual, we sourced as locally as possible, and had things restored and upcycled where needed using local trades and crafts people. This included sourcing a wood burning stove locally, and having a flue installed and finding local slate for the hearth.
Shouting up the chimney to the installer on the roof was exciting - and managing to find a stainless steel flue that fitted down the tiny and ancient chimney was very lucky indeed! We loved the slate for the hearth so much that we bought extra for the door number and the window sill in the bathroom too. We love to work in Cornwall and have a good database of local suppliers and trades people in the area - and we are looking forward to working on more Cornwall projects in the future.
