At Porter & Gold, we believe that beautiful spaces start with strong connections, and that’s exactly what we’ve found through our sponsorship of The Developer’s Network Bristol. 

 

Run by the ever-inspiring James Adams of Fairholm Estates, this monthly meet-up brings together property developers, investors, designers, and creatives from across the region. It’s more than just a networking event; it’s a room full of ideas, energy, and possibility. Every time I attend, I leave feeling a little wiser, a little bolder, and a lot more inspired. 

 

When we decided to sponsor the event, it wasn’t just about brand visibility (although that has been a massive benefit). It was about aligning Porter & Gold with a community that’s actively shaping the built environment around us. The conversations that happen here, whether over a drink, or during the open Q&As (or the late curry afterwards), are packed with real insights, lessons learned, and shared enthusiasm for building better homes and better businesses. 

 

On a personal level, being part of this community has pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way. Speaking to new people every month, sharing what we do at Porter & Gold, and even the dreaded speaking to the room has been a huge part of my own growth as a business owner. I’ve met developers I now work with, people I’ve learned from, and even those I’ve been able to help in return. The knowledge, generosity and openness in the room is unmatched. 

 

There’s a lot to be said for showing up every month, for putting yourself in front of people who are walking a similar path and who can offer a fresh perspective on this ever changing industry. That’s what The Developer’s Network offers every single month.
